Thank you Viviana for the wonderful dedication to your Mom, David has such talent and was able to create a touching piece. I thought of my own Mam while listening to this piece. Greetings from Ireland, just purchased and looking forward to playing it xx
Amor Matris is a brilliant tribute woven in notes. David Hicken’s artistry shines through every note — tender, evocative, and deeply moving. I commissioned this piece in memory of my Mom, and David captured her essence with sublime grace. Slow for me to learn and play (I only hope I will give it the justice it deserves), its emotional depth speaks directly to the heart. With Amor Matris, David gave my memories a voice — and for that, I will always be grateful. His music is an awe-inspiring fusion of poetic emotion, visionary imagination, and masterful craftsmanship. Each composition feels both deeply personal and exquisitely composed, and Amor Matris is no exception — indeed, it is a shining example.
This music would correspond nicely to a movie with a setting in the British countryside of the 19th century - really beautiful!
... and not difficult to play (apart from some tiny flat signs ;)) - but you'll get used to them quickly!)
Lovely piece of music idealy suited for my very poor piano skills. But is it possible to write the chord names under the chords please ?
I am fascinated by the rhitmic technique of the song and in particular by the left hand. Congratulation. I really appreciate this song.
A truly interesting reading for all pianists who would like to try their hand at playing the organ, which explains all the facets of this majestic instrument and also explains the differences in playing style compared to the piano.
An amazing piece of music. Can't stop listening to it....hope I can do it justice on the piano!!
David is a gifted composer and musician and it’s nice to be able to support the artist directly. The sheet music was exactly as performed by David and the purchase and checkout was easily done and without any issue. Eventually, with much practice and effort, I hope to be able to play something recognizable as, Incantation.
The work is impressive, evoking a strong emotional feeling. I am very happy to have purchased it.
I’m a self taught Piano player. I’m 78 years old and I bought a digital piano keyboard when the COVID virus started. I saw someone playing a music piece that I liked very much so I bought the sheet music and started learning the keys pretty quickly. I learned the music after about 4 years but it didn’t sound good. I bought more sheet music and tried to learn the songs, but I did very badly. I tried to learn scales but I quickly lost interest.
Then I saw David play on YouTube and was amazed by his ability so I read about his music books. I realized that his “The Ultimate Piano Workout Book” was what I needed.
Now I practice these exercises everyday. I find that I’m not bored like before but instead enjoy learning scales. This is what I have been missing all along. If you are serious about learning piano, get his books and it will save you years of frustration. Thanks David

What can you say about his music except that it’s a radical departure from contemporary new age classical in terms of difficulty but exceptionally rewarding in its beauty. It’s definitely creeped into my own playing, and I’m grateful for it!!
I find this piece of organ music very beautiful and pleasant. Davi this music is beautiful Thank you
BECAUSE OF MY ROMANTIC NATURE, TEARS RUN DOWN MY FACE EACH TIME I LISTEN TO THIS PIECE! HOW CAN SOMEONE CREATE SUCH MUSIC????
This piece is one of the better contemporary works that I've seen. The melody is well written and the syncopation is clever. The way that it's written as well as the suggested fingerings make it clear that is was written by someone who knows the piano at a very high level. It is also very fun to play. Overall I would highly recommend this piece to anybody.
Easy process of purchase and download of pdf. There are no finger placements, so I had to look at a video to find out how to play some challenging parts.
Hey there David
I’m wonderstruck by your amazing piano playing skills. That’s something to behold. I bought “O Holy Night” and hoping that one day I’ll be able to play it. I’m 78 and started learning piano during the pandemic. If I could practice all day it would make me happy but I have a bad left thumb that tells me when to shut it down. I love your arrangements very much but I have a lot to learn before I can bring “O Holy Night” to life.
