This precious collection is a must-have for anyone who appreciates David's music. Now we can practice until we drop. 😉
I started debating whether I should buy this bundle, or the one with organ, and chorales(Im an organist and singer), and I decided to get this one because of an OCU discount I was eligible for. After this I discovered the OCU discount was only for new users, and I asked David what I could do to get my money back, and he generously gave me the full package! Obviously I don't think you should ask for a free discount- because it's already at such a good price, and I highly suggest buying because the music is not only great, it has challenging rhythms, and patterns that I think could be eligible for an RCM etude!
i am amazed by the opportunity to obtain this amount of wonderful compositions in a stunning collection. thank you so much for sharing.
The opportunity David offers to access his wonderful work is an extraordinary gift. I already had several collections of sheet music and instructional books, but I love being able to listen to the YouTube videos following the admired scores. It's not necessary to play them to enjoy them. I also use them to sight-reading study rhythms. It's an immense pleasure to collaborate with my favorite music creator. His work is immense, and I hope he continues for a long time.
The Complete David Hicken Sheet Music Library is an absolute treasure. Even if I’m not able to play every piece — including the organ works — I couldn’t resist getting it. Having all of David’s music gathered in one place is a dream come true for all those who admire him and love his music, and the price makes it feel like a true gift. Thank you, David, for making this possible.
Love how it keeps moving and flows easily from one to the other. Can't wait to perform it in church!
I bought the Sedna piano sheet when I bought the Lakshmi piece, as three pieces were more cheap compared to bying them one by one. I started playing with Lakshmi and afterwards with Sedna. Sedna sounds a little bit like Lakshmi: it uses similar accords and styles. Sedna is slightly more difficult to play, but with many very enjoying accord sequences. So I would recommend: start with Lakshmi and then play Sedna! It's great music your family will enjoy.
Songs that speak to me are my favs to play and this one definitely is fun to play
Lakshmi is one of those great piano pieces by David Hicken that is doable for any hobby pianist and excellent to listen to. I also like the details, e.g. the title on each page which helps me to find the right sheets in my book. Small improvement for me would be to have finger numbers at some notes where it is not obvious how to use the keys. Started with the free piece in the DavidHicken App which is also great, but I still prefer printed sheets by far, so I bought it from here.
I’m Bulgarian and live in Sofia. I discovered David Hicken’s music by chance. But ever since then, I’ve been checking out his YouTube playlists every day. His compositions and performances bring me a sense of lightness and great joy! For the past few months, I’ve been trying to teach myself to play the piano. At 70, it’s not very easy or quick, but I’ progressing step by step. When I heard AKASHVANI, I really wanted to start playing it. Now I’m slowly learning it and saying, “Thank you for the music!” May many more people find inspiration in your compositions and performances, Maestro!
As always, David's arrangements are unique, fun to play and useful in many different settings. I am a long time fan and am constantly coming back to many of the older pieces just to reminisce .
Since my first listening to this amazing track, Lancelot always gives me incredible energy just like Incantation. So I was heavily motivated to play it myself. However, I realized that this piece of music is hard work even for me as an advanced pianist. You have to show several pianistic skills: melodic differentiation, a strong fifth finger, large hand span, fluid scales + arpeggios, jumps - in short: Lancelot has it all. Like an etude for everything. Amazing how easy it looks when David plays it.
It is worthwile and I keep practising!
One of my Top 5 pieces of all Hicken music.
Due to the structure of my upright piano, the keys take a long time to return to their original position after being pressed, so I found that I would not be able to play the repeated notes written in this song unless I had a grand piano or an electronic keyboard. There is nothing wrong with the song, but I am very disappointed that I cannot play this song.
A perfectly arranged challenge for anyone who wants to practice the unique "Art of Piano" style. A fast-paced, exciting, and demanding masterpiece.
Like every piece, it is a great achievement to hear it through our own hands, especially when it is conducted by the author in its original form.
I really love this piece. A truly haunting melody, one which I will be playing when I next have the chance to play in public.
HI, David. I am extremely happy with the last scores i bought: Galahad and The Quest. It really cheer me up , lifty my spirits and are so beautifull than i spent a while to stop my mind cause your music refuse to dissapear as if they have their own life. Thank you so much for your music. They are invaluable treasures and make ours lives happier.
I've really loved this version...it was a fun combination of these two common songs, but it is also a beautful song of it's own.
Thank you David for the gift of these great arrangements. I love Christmas music and bought both Christmas books at your Christmas sale. I will enjoy learning to play them.
Update to my earlier review: I received a quick and friendly response to my first posting. Impressive. In my haste I hadn't carefully read the page from which I was ordering and jumped to my own conclusions about what was available. Now I realize that earlier review is irrelevant because the "Carols of Christmas" album is most enjoyable and I am so glad I made the "mistake." David's wonderful talent deepens the meaning and experience of Christmas. I am grateful for having ordered the "Carols of Christmas."
This album was listed under the "Organ Music" tab so I hope it was Christmas music played on the organ. David is a consummate artist and I do quite enjoy his music, especially Carol of the Bells played on the organ. Oh well, I will happily enjoy these pieces.
merci.
What should I play tomorrow? – A question every church musician knows. The day before Christmas, I found this piece on your website and played it during Communion. I liked it very much, and I felt like I could play a whole orchestra and choir. Such a fantastic piece! You can tell a virtuoso was at work. Thank you so much!!! Afterwards, someone immediately came up to me and wanted to know who composed it... well, apart from Handel :-)
