It's very wonderful music.
I discovered this artist's music on YouTube and loved them.
I'm practicing little by little. I feel so happy when I play.
Thank you.
This tasty arrangement really captures the majesty and subtlety of this famous variation. My wife is also playing it, and has fallen in love with it as much as I have. Wonderfully done, David Hicken!
This is a wonderful, calm and meditative piece in honor of a beautiful, luminous goddess. Gorgious!
The calm and radiant character of Kaiaka Bay, with its rippling texture, really invites you to settle into the music. All the while, a beautiful cello-like line weaves through the piece, giving it an expressive core. I truly enjoy playing it.
A great selection of festive tunes with expert arrangements. Extremely challenging on occasion, but very accessible.
Another Masterpiece! So much fun to play and fits the fingers beautifully!!!! A must have hit from the David Hicken collection!!!!
One of my all time favorites especially for sight reading!!!
Thanks again David for your gift of music!!!!!
David Hicken me tomó por sorpresa. Un figura disruptiva y al mismo tiempo evocadora de las mejores tradiciones pianísticas. Sus composiciones sugieren una especie de tejido que oscila entre el barroco, el clasismo y un dejo de jazz.
David has a way making music sound fantastic. “Come All Ye Faithful “ is a great classic. I love the way David has put some great chords on it that that just makes it sound over the top. I really enjoy practicing this piece. Thanks David.

Whether you’re looking for a piece to wow the crowd or just play for fun look no further because Lancelot has it all. Great for pieces where you work on bringing the right hand melody out in the fifth finger while all notes in the thumbs and first and second fingers are continuously keeping that tempo and excitement of the piece flowing. Perfect for getting ready for more difficult pieces like Vigilante and The Letter which are my two favorite pieces of David Hicken of all time. I own David Hicken complete discography and been performing and playing his music for years and this piece is another master piece and is right there with all the Incantations. The best part about this music is the fingering just fits perfectly so follow his suggestions while taking it slow to get the accuracy first and the speed will come. Well done David and thanks again for all your music!
When Continuum was released in 2024, I immediately bought it, calling it a truly superb and inspiring album. One year later, I still believe Continuum is brilliant. Its 24 tracks take the listener on an unimaginable journey of emotions, love, and introspection, brimming with creativity from beginning to end.
This time, I purchased the WAV edition as a gift—because such artistry deserves to be shared! A word of caution, though: Lancelot is not for the fainthearted. A splendid, fast‑paced composition that showcases David Hicken’s dazzling technique and imagination. Incantation V bursts with the same fiery brilliance, another thrilling display of speed and mastery. Together, they blaze with virtuosity at its most daring. And then comes Unconditional, shining with love, tenderness, and depth—a piece that lingers long after the final note…
The rest of the tracks sparkle too, each one a gem in its own right. Truly, Continuum is an album that deserves to be in the collection of every music lover.
Fun to play! However, it would be nice in future publications to include more courtesy accidentals, if possible. I just add them in by hand, but it would be a big time saver to have more of the accidentals written in.
Thank you so much!
So much fun to play!!! A must have to add to your David Hicken collection of music to own and play!!!!!
Touchfull, profound, classic-like, caressing the ear, the euforia for a musician and for a listener - like it a lot!
Just recently purchased the Incantation sheet music. The proposed finger setting is very useful so thank you very much David.
The interplay of melodies reminds me of a mother's connection to her children. I lost my own mother 6 years ago, but I still feel her close. This piece speaks of another kind of communication, and fills my heart.
Alicen’s Nocturne feels like sitting at the piano late at night and letting your thoughts drift. A gentle, expressive melody floats over a steady left hand, creating a warm and cozy atmosphere. As the piece unfolds, the music grows fuller and more dramatic but never loses its dreamy character - brightening briefly before settling into a quiet, reflective ending.
As a player, the nocturne feels rich and expressive, yet natural under the fingers. It’s accessible enough to enjoy right away, but it also offers a touch of technical challenge and enough musical depth to keep you engaged. It’s also enjoyable to practise because it already sounds beautiful at a slow, gentle tempo - you can take your time, ease into the phrases, and the music still holds its charm.
This is right on the edge of my ability but it’s so beautiful I’m determined to learn it - however long it takes. It will be wonderful for our upcoming Christmas services.
