Wonderful

Fantastic piece of music. Very touching and beautifully arranged.

Beautiful arrangement

This arrangement exemplifies the mood and message of this beautiful Christmas song. It has a clear beginning, middle, and end which keeps the listener engaged and allows for dynamics and expression. For my level (advanced/intermediate), it had a couple of lines that needed more practice and refinement, but I could easily sight read it from the start. I will be performing it at my church service in December.

Exquisite, sensitive arrangement that is a joy to play

In the Bleak Midwinter is my favourite carol and I have long been looking for an arrangement that is satisfying from a pianistic perspective. Although this arrangement is simple enough to make a creditable addition to any teaching repertoire, it is just lovely for more advanced musicians to play and relax with. While playing, you hear and appreciate subtle decisions that David has made in compiling the arrangement. The added motifs are beautiful - they complement rather than detract from the main melody. The voicing is exquisite, and the 'feel' in the hand is very natural. I have found playing this over Christmas to be a nostalgic, reflective experience that took me well beyond enjoyment of the carol to consideration of Christmases past, precious memories and to a state of mindfulness that has prompted me to assess what I really want for the coming year. This arrangement indicates real talent - a sympathy for the integrity of the old and a vision for the new. I highly recommend.

Great Arrangement

Subtle and beautiful. Requires careful voicing, but fits the hand perfectly.
