Just received my new VISCOUNT PHYSIS+ VIRTUOSO 350RTM and went to the VISCOUNT FACEBOOK GROUP where I discovered the music of David Hicken... starting with his composition, ATONEMENT. I purchased the volume of organ music. The pieces are a blast to play as an organist and really resonate with listeners... as I discovered when demonstrating my new instrument! These are the types of compositions that I wish organists would play more in recitals.

David’s musical versatility is utterly amazing and Continuum is another of his masterpieces, vibrant and fascinating.

Arcana is different from the other David Hicken pieces, a heavenly mystic and spiritual sound. Five stars! Love it!

In my comments about the Symphonie Gothique collection, I mentioned how I'm learning to love organ music all over again. But in the Organ Works album, David Hicken is showcasing the amazing versatility of the Viscount organ. I'm crazy about the "orchestral" capability of the instrument and in "Arcana" the voices add a dimension that is just not possible with a church organ. My most favorite piece of this album is "Absolution" - again because of the richness of the voices. This album demonstrates that an organ like this is truly an orchestra in the hands of a consummate artist like David Hicken. I strongly recommend it for every music lover, whether classical purist or those with more modern tastes!

I intend to play your composition Arcana exactly as you did. The Viscount organ in Goldscheuer has both a choir sound and a piano. This composition reaches me deeply and takes me to places long gone.

This is a beautiful and very pretty song. I love it. There are a few key changes but it well written and not frustratingly difficult.

I have always liked organ music, but mostly because of my interest in the awesome instrument. But David Hicken’s music made me gain a greater respect for its incredible musical versatility. The brilliant musicality and precision playing of Symphonie Gothique is not only a testament to David Hicken’s artistry, but also a celebration of this true queen of instruments!

Simply and absolutely magnificent!

The moment I heard Arcana I was smitten. I am really looking forward to learning this ethereal composition. Thank you, David, for yet another sublime masterpiece!

This, in my opinion, is by far the best arrangement of this piece of music and captures perfectly the dynamic of the original from Handel's Messiah. The carefully crafted blending and dialogue of voices endows this arrangement with a grace and delicacy which is breathtaking. To play David Hicken's arrangement is pure joy.

It's a joy to play this piece.
