Following on from ‘Portrait of a Pianist’, I was on a roll, and had a great time churning out new compositions and releasing them on YouTube. ‘Momentum’ was a fitting title for the next album, because my journey certainly had momentum.
As with many of my albums, the pieces contained in this album are somewhat biographical. ‘Tempus Fugit’ is Latin for ‘time flies’ and that’s the feeling that I had with my life at the time. ‘Alicen’s Nocturne’ was written for a friend. ‘My Sojourn’ was about a trip I took to the British Virgin Islands. ‘Sanctuary of Truth’ was a piece written about my experience visiting a remarkable hand-carved temple in Thailand. ‘Incantation 2.0’ was a good follow-up to the first one which had been so popular. ‘Mon Coeur’ was a work that was commissioned by fans, and ‘Gemini’ was the first piece that I wrote for piano four hands. ‘Gemini’ is also one of my all-time favourite compositions.
