I was surprised to see, how easy , your website is, for people (ilke me), with little experience about buying online .
Navigated and found the music sheet easily and the purchase completed smoothly in a few steps
As for the music piece, seems so easy when played by David but it is too hard for me. Of course I knew that before buying it, but i decided to do so, because i like the way, David plays the piano, and wanted to support him

I got this as I have listened/watched this on YouTube many times and got the sheet music to show my appreciation. Hell I don’t even play the piano but I do enjoy someone who does. X

Due to the structure of my upright piano, the keys take a long time to return to their original position after being pressed, so I found that I would not be able to play the repeated notes written in this song unless I had a grand piano or an electronic keyboard. There is nothing wrong with the song, but I am very disappointed that I cannot play this song.

In a world where modern music sounds mediocre at best, David Hicken's pieces are outstanding, unique and wonderfully varied. 'Incantation' ranks especially high for me due to its syncopation and animated but mysterious feel. Thank you David!!

Absolute piano

Not much has to be said about the piece itself: It is so good and unique, and really fun to learn and practice! The sheet music is similarly impeccable: easy to read, well structured and annotated, suggesting a very efficient way to approach the original tempo. While clearly challenging due to the uncommon octave playing technique, it sounds amazing even on an upright piano.

The whole music puchase process is quick, and easy. I did it on the road! His music is reasonably priced and I was hooked when I first heard Incatation!

I just started self-learning piano about a year and 8 months ago. Although this piece is probably outside of my ability, I fell in love with it immediately and just had to start learning. I’m looking forward playing it. The price for the sheet music is very reasonable. Purchasing and downloading it from David’s website was easy. I feel privileged to support other independent musicians and artists, especially when they are as gifted as David Hicken!

I am fascinated by the rhitmic technique of the song and in particular by the left hand. Congratulation. I really appreciate this song.

Incantation

David is a gifted composer and musician and it’s nice to be able to support the artist directly. The sheet music was exactly as performed by David and the purchase and checkout was easily done and without any issue. Eventually, with much practice and effort, I hope to be able to play something recognizable as, Incantation.

This piece is one of the better contemporary works that I've seen. The melody is well written and the syncopation is clever. The way that it's written as well as the suggested fingerings make it clear that is was written by someone who knows the piano at a very high level. It is also very fun to play. Overall I would highly recommend this piece to anybody.

first off will say I’m an old guy that’s played around on the piano for a while playing only my own simple little compositions… when I came across this piece it just called out to me and I knew I would have to try and learn it… so will probably spend the better part of this year trying to get a handle on this piece ..thx

Hi David , you sent me a personal email long time ago, mentioning you like Franz Liszt , also a virtuoso style composer from the past, your song Incantation combines modern rhythmic with classical music very well it’s a great piece of music, but requires a skilled piano player, I wish I could play this, just got a newer piano with better action so I’m gonna start learning your song, which is also an excellent practice piece for every student or advanced player. I think whoever can play this musical masterpiece, probably can play almost everything

In my opinion, the episodes are a bit too long. Shorter episodes would be more suitable. Nevertheless, I commend your work. It is indeed a remarkable piece, akin to a toccatta.

David's YouTube videos make this piece look so difficult, but it's definitely not unmanageable! I'm just getting back into piano after about two decades away and it's so enjoyable to slowly regain competence on such challenging and incredibly creative pieces. The challenge now is choosing the next!

I love this piece. Since the first time I saw your video on youtube and watched as your fingers flew across the piano I knew I had to at least try to learn this. I've listened to this song on repeat so many times and I can never get tired of it.
