Welcome to the 2025 Online Piano Competition hosted by David Hicken.
This fully virtual event invites pianists of all ages and abilities to perform a selected piece and share it with an international audience — all from the comfort of home.
• Open to Everyone — no age or skill restrictions
• Three Levels of Repertoire — choose your challenge
• Professional Recognition — judged by acclaimed pianist and composer David Hicken
• Entry Fee: $49 USD
• Deadline: November 1, 2025
• Winners Announced: November 7, 2025
How to Enter
Step 1: Choose Your Piece
Select one work from the official competition lists:
• List A – Lower Intermediate
• List B – Intermediate
• List C – Advanced
(Repertoire lists coming soon)
Step 2: Pay Entry Fee
Submit the $49 entry fee before uploading your video.
Step 3: Record Your Performance
• One continuous, unedited video
• Performer and hands clearly visible
• Sheet music may be used
• No post-editing or enhancement
Step 4: Upload to YouTube
• Title format: David Hicken 2025 Competition – Your Name – Piece Title
• Set video to Public or Unlisted
Step 5: Submit Your Entry
• Paste the YouTube link into your entry form
• Include your name, name of piece and duration

Judging Criteria
Performances will be evaluated on:
• Technical accuracy
• Musical interpretation
• Tone and sound
• Expression and communication
• Overall presentation
Each entry will be judged fairly within its selected difficulty level.
