Lancelot

Since my first listening to this amazing track, Lancelot always gives me incredible energy just like Incantation. So I was heavily motivated to play it myself. However, I realized that this piece of music is hard work even for me as an advanced pianist. You have to show several pianistic skills: melodic differentiation, a strong fifth finger, large hand span, fluid scales + arpeggios, jumps - in short: Lancelot has it all. Like an etude for everything. Amazing how easy it looks when David plays it.
It is worthwile and I keep practising!

Whether you’re looking for a piece to wow the crowd or just play for fun look no further because Lancelot has it all. Great for pieces where you work on bringing the right hand melody out in the fifth finger while all notes in the thumbs and first and second fingers are continuously keeping that tempo and excitement of the piece flowing. Perfect for getting ready for more difficult pieces like Vigilante and The Letter which are my two favorite pieces of David Hicken of all time. I own David Hicken complete discography and been performing and playing his music for years and this piece is another master piece and is right there with all the Incantations. The best part about this music is the fingering just fits perfectly so follow his suggestions while taking it slow to get the accuracy first and the speed will come. Well done David and thanks again for all your music!

Great piece. I love playing it.

Hearing this stimulating music makes me feel full of energy and satisfaction, What an adventure it's going to be to practice and learn this beautiful piano piece. It has everything a pianist wants : good technique, a nourishing left hand supporting an amazing skillful right hand singing the melody with the fifth finger and all along "senza ped. " which makes the piece even more precise and sharpened. It's lots of work, lots of fun and it sounds great !. Thank you so much for giving us such wonderful music, can't get enough of it !
