Nimrod (The Enigma Variations)
Seems very faithful to the original orchestra piece, yet is somewhat simple to play. It is lovely and elegant:)
I love this arrangement of Nimrod for how graceful and flowing it sounds. The best composition of this I’ve heard.
For those of you who want to try to recreate the beauty of Nimrod on the piano, this is the best arrangement I've found. David faithfully captures the sweeping yet elegantly simple melodies and transforms them into a piano solo that can really stand on its own. Enjoy!
Most piano arrangements of Elgar's Nimrod retained the rather solemn prossession feeling as left and right hand chords are played in sync one by one. David Hicken's arrangement instill an unassuming continuity, giving a softer and a contemporary touch without loss of the original mood.
