A perfect handbook for pianists and composers looking to improve their knowledge of music notation.

Beginning pianists, as well as those learning to read music for the first time, are introduced to the fundamentals of music notation, as well as the rules which apply to writing music correctly.  All of the symbols a pianist may encounter are explained in this book such as slurs, ties, dots, accidentals, key signatures, rests, triplets, duplets, grace notes, trills and much more.

Beginning composers will find the answers to many questions regarding proper formatting of music as well as explanations about transposition, modulation, cadences, passing notes, triads, extensions and much more.

More advanced topics include suspensions, anticipations, pedal points, voice-leading and harmonic rhythm.

Includes definitions of all commonly-used Italian terms in music.

Clear, concise and easy to understand format.

Well worth it

This book is well worth it. All my doubts have been answered. Suffice to say that I wish I had bought it sooner. Together with Secrets to Better Piano Playing and The Ultimate Piano Workout I have the perfect trilogy.

The ultimate piano workout

I’m absolutely so happy to find this wonderful book with two other books-Secrets to better piano playing, and Music Theory for Pianist- Now I clearly understand why I failed to practice piano so many times over the years. I’m back to practice. Thanks a million for your great work!

"Music Theory For Pianists"

I bought this book for my daughter, who has taken piano lessons for more than three years. This book can help her have a better, complete understanding of music theory. My daughter finds it helpful since it was written in a clear way a teacher would explains.
