I really appreciate this sharing of years of experience and that it lays out the reality that practice - effective practice - over a long period of time is the key. No shirt cuts, but a reasonable path to success.

The challenge of this delightful piece is to keep a steady tempo throughout. Like Bach’s music, it looks deceptively easy but to keep the tempo steady, the notes clean, and still have good musicality requires real skill. I’m determined to learn it!!

When I discovered that David was accepting commissioned work, I didn’t hesitate for a moment. I immediately placed an order, asking him to compose a piece in memory of my Mom, who passed away a few years ago. I felt it would not only be a beautiful tribute to her but also a meaningful way for friends and family to celebrate and remember her.
As soon as the order was placed, David reached out to me, asking for as much information about my Mom as I was comfortable sharing. He also posed thoughtful questions about the kind of composition I envisioned—such as the key, style preferences, and more. However, I gave him complete creative freedom, believing that a true musician should let their heart guide the process.
I don’t regret this purchase and am eagerly looking forward to receiving the composition. Naturally, I can’t wait to start learning it so I can play it myself. Although David mentioned it would take two to four weeks, I assured him not to worry about deadlines. Knowing his incredible talent, I have no doubt it will be a masterpiece, just like all of his work.
