Sounds of Christmas

Thank you David for the gift of these great arrangements. I love Christmas music and bought both Christmas books at your Christmas sale. I will enjoy learning to play them.

Ein sehr beeindruckendes Musikwerk 👍

Christmas never sounded better than with David's arrangements.

After listening to to some of David’s arrangements (notably “Carol of the Bells”, I felt that there was no way I could duplicate that! But I found that with some diligent practice with metronome, iPad and a Bluetooth pedal for those difficult page turns (!) it indeed can be done! Thanks for faithfully accurate transcriptions! A great selection of both secular and sacred, ancient and modern. I should have ordered it earlier, but I’ll be ready for Christmas 2024 and beyond!

Fresh arrangements. I enjoy playing them.

This book is amazing and it's immediately obvious that time and effort has been put into the arrangements. This is the 2nd book I've bought and they do not disappoint

Sounds of Christmas Book

As with all of David´s arrangements, the Sound of Christmas book is wonderful.

Very refreshing and original takes on well-known tunes.

Excellent collection of beautifully crafted Christmas arrangements. Nice variety in the choice of pieces which range from very challenging to play to more straightforward.

Excelent book, nice song really beatifull, I truly recomend for any intermediate-advance pianist

David Hicken is a responsible, generous, and honest man. I like the collection he compiled.

This is just a glorious compilation of Christmas pieces, very inventive and so much fun to play.

I really love this album, all pieces are beautiful and peaceful, i enjoy playing these songs

David’s music is just amazing as his life’s story! Thank you, David for sharing who you are in such a wonderful way.

I like that there was varying degrees of difficulty Something to learn fast and some to take time and challenge myself.

It's long been challenging to find intermediate piano Christmas Pieces that are both enjoyable for playing and to listening. I quit looking years ago, as I was so disappointed. David's music was a wonderful find and available instantly online. I strongly recommend this collection to the intermediate piano player/student.

This book, along with Carols of Christmas, contain some of the best arrangements of Christmas music that I’ve encountered. As a professional pianist with not a lot of time to arrange music myself, I’ve used David Hicken’s music to great success. What I love about his arrangements is how beautiful and varied the accompaniments are, and how much variety in texture there is just in one piece. The difficulty ranges from late intermediate to advanced, so there is a good selection of music that does not require practice and a few that do. Looking forward to seeing what new arrangements come out each season!

As a long time piano teacher of a large private studio, I am always looking for fun, fresh, interesting, and different piano arrangements, especially when it comes to Christmas music. David Hicken’s arrangements fit the bill in all of these categories. They are unique, and vary enough in skill level requirements, that I am able to use then for a range of students: I am grateful for the work David Hicken does, and the benefit it is to myself and my students. I have not been disappointed with any of his music I have purchased; arrangements or original compositions.
