What should I play tomorrow? – A question every church musician knows. The day before Christmas, I found this piece on your website and played it during Communion. I liked it very much, and I felt like I could play a whole orchestra and choir. Such a fantastic piece! You can tell a virtuoso was at work. Thank you so much!!! Afterwards, someone immediately came up to me and wanted to know who composed it... well, apart from Handel :-)

This is right on the edge of my ability but it’s so beautiful I’m determined to learn it - however long it takes. It will be wonderful for our upcoming Christmas services.

A tasteful and accurate arrangement of this stellar piece of music. Challenging but doable.

I hadn't realised that orders arrive immediately via electronic file. Plus side, immediate access; down side, you have to print it off. However, at least printing it off, one can configure single or double sided, which can help with page turning. (Some publishers seem to like putting page turns in where the pianists'/organists' hands are already heavily committed - unavoidable sometimes though.
Very helpful having the video demo of the music on the website, so you know what you're getting, and the included fingering notation is helpful. Very well priced too. Thank you.

works great as an accompaniment

This, in my opinion, is by far the best arrangement of this piece of music and captures perfectly the dynamic of the original from Handel's Messiah. The carefully crafted blending and dialogue of voices endows this arrangement with a grace and delicacy which is breathtaking. To play David Hicken's arrangement is pure joy.

I love this piece of music. This work from Handel's Messiah is one of my favorites and this arrangement for piano is fantastic. It is rich and full with runs and polyphony that are so beautiful when played by the symphony orchestra. I am so
glad I am able to sit down and basically sight read it at a slow pace. It will take practice for me to get it up to speed but I am loving playing it. My level of playing is intermediate. Thank you David Hicken!

This transcription of a favorite takes a glorious choral work and adapts it into a piano solo that is sonorous, challenging and yet, playable. This is the only adaptation of this song I’ve found and it does not disappoint. The word “triumph” seems befitting the arrangement and subject matter.

Ordering this sheet music was an easy process. I love the well done arrangement of a very familiar song. It's not easy easy and it's not overly challenging. Just right. I suppose I consider myself an intermediate piano player. I was glad to be able to jump right into and yet find some sections that I needed to practice over and over again. Thank you!! You are truly gifted.

I had been searching for a piano arrangement of 'For Unto Us a Child is Born' and had been disappointed with the quality of the versions available from my usual sources. Eventually I found my way to David Hicken's arrangement and was immediately impressed by it. It brings out all the voices faithfully and effectively and manages to attain on the piano much of the power of the magnificent choral work. Players who, like me, have small hands may find certain sections hard to manage and need to simplify a little. But that does not detract from my enthusiasm for this very beautiful arrangement. I found it far superior to the oversimplified, rather dull, arrangements I had encountered before.

Sounds great. Looks very playable (with a lot of practice), but I haven't started yet.
